Since April 2015 all practices have been required to provide all of their patients with a ‘Named Accountable GP.’ This GP has overall responsibility for the care and support provided to those patients by their surgery team. The role is predominantly an administrative one to ensure effective delivery of services when needed and DOES NOT affect who you see for your care. If you do not know who your “named GP” is then please feel free to ask at reception.

The Arthur Medical Centre has a long standing policy of encouraging choice for patients in the GP that they wish to see. Hence this new requirement does not prevent you from seeing or speaking to any GP in the practice and you can continue to see your normally preferred GP.

If you have a specific preference for your “named GP” to be different from the one assigned to you then please contact the practice. The request will then be considered and all reasonable efforts made to accommodate it.
