Opening Hours

The surgery is open at the following times

Weekdays

The surgery doors and phone lines are open from 08.00 to 18.30. However the actual times of individual services may differ from this so for more information please see Pharmacy Hours and the information below.

Weekday Mornings

Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 1:00 pm

Weekday Evenings

Monday to Friday 3:10 pm - 6:10 pm

The times for various other sessions (e.g. chiropody, counselling, health visitor etc) may vary from the above and details can be obtained from reception - doors and phone lines are open from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Saturdays

The Practice holds a single-GP Surgery on Saturdays from 8.00 to 12.00. This session is exclusively for pre-booked appointments with a doctor and normally no other appointments or clinics are operated at this time. Walk-in appointments cannot be handled on Saturdays but walk-in centres do operate in Derby, Nottingham and Stapleford. The Practice phone lines are not open on a Saturday morning and all incoming calls are diverted to the out-of-hours service.

Surgery Closures for Staff Training

On Wednesdays 15th February and 21st March phone lines will switch to the Out of Hours Service at 1.30pm and doors will close at 4pm.

On Wednesday 25th January the practice will be fully closed from 1.30pm.

When We Are Closed

If you require a doctor in an emergency, you should telephone the usual surgery number 01332 880249. The doctor on-call may not be from this practice, as Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust has responsibility for medical care outside of core hours. You may be requested to attend a local hospital or centre.

It would be appreciated if out-of-hours contact could be reserved for genuinely urgent problems only. In addition to the Accident & Emergency Department at the Royal Derby Hospital there are minor casualty departments at Ripley, Heanor and Ilkeston Hospitals.
